ABOUT
The BRRN receives reports of bias incidents on the Twin Cities campus. It responds to all reporters with written information about supportive resources and refers reports to either the University's Equal Opportunity & Title IX office (EOT) or the Office for Student Affairs for further review, investigation, educational coaching, supportive measures, or other response strategies. The BRRN also provides regular reports to campus leaders on bias incidents and trends. The BRRN does not conduct investigations or take disciplinary action.
The University regularly evaluates BRRN processes and staffing. This past year, BRRN made several updates to strengthen the BRRN. These updates are intended to ensure that each report receives an appropriate and effective response, and that EOT is able to review and monitor all reports and responses.
The BRRN is staffed by representatives from Equal Opportunity & Title IX, the Office for Student Affairs, and the Office of the General Counsel. Executive oversight of the BRRN is provided by the Executive Vice President and Provost and the Vice President for Equity and Diversity.
